How does Sküma work in plain English?

Is the post-filtration path BPA free?

Microplastics: what does your test actually measure?

Does RO remove minerals — and what’s Sküma’s fix?

Yes. Reverse osmosis removes dissolved solids, including minerals. Sküma’s fix is simple: purify first, then rebuild the finished water with a defined mineral profile.

Why not allow waste water back into the refill tank?

Because that shortcut can make output less consistent and put more stress on the filter over time. Reject water is kept separate to protect water quality and support longer filter life.

How often do I replace the filter and how much is it?

The Super Filter is designed to be replaced once a year. The current replacement cost is £40.

Is the hot water kettle-hot? If not, why?

Not exactly. Sküma uses an instant hot-water module instead of storing hot water in a tank, which is more hygienic and more energy-efficient, but behaves differently from a kettle.

What warranty do I get, and what’s the expected lifespan?

Sküma comes with a 1-year warranty, with the option to extend it by another year for £60. The unit is designed to be supported, serviced, and upgraded over time.

What happens if something goes wrong?

Support starts with remote troubleshooting and setup help. If that doesn’t solve the issue, the next step is collection and repair, with replacement or upgrade used where needed.

Do I need a subscription for minerals/boosters?

No. Minerals and boosters are optional, not required to use the system. If you do subscribe, you can easily cancel, pause, or skip through your account.
